OVERVIEW
CONTINUOUS PRACTICE & IMPROVEMENT

The Clinical Mentorship Program at ĀYU Academy provides individualized clinical mentoring to Āyurvedic practitioners of all levels according to their skills. This program is flexible, affordable and fully online.

Students who participate in the Clinical Mentorship Program receive targeted, clinical mentoring appropriate for their level of understanding and practice. As students grow in the program, they advance their clinical skills and depth of knowledge in Āyurvedic medicine.

This program offers flexible schedules and hours. Students schedule case presentation sessions each month and are invited to observe other sessions or review session recordings for additional learning opportunities.

To receive a Certificate of Completion, students must record each session in a timely fashion and receive their Clinical Supervisor's signature.

Clinical decision-making in Āyurvedic medicine is complex. Students trained outside of India are often missing basic, intermediate and advanced skills that allow them to practice safely, ethically and confidently. With Clinical Mentorship, students can learn where they need to fill in the gaps to gain knowledge, skills and confidence.

Read more about the need for this type of training in Western medicine in "A Model for Clinical Decision-Making in Medicine."

FORMAT
FLEXIBLE HOURS, ONLINE

The format of the Clinical Mentorship Program at ĀYU Academy is fully online with flexible schedules. Students register for the program and can then schedule their monthly mentoring sessions and access the group calendar and other resources.

During each session, the student has 50 minutes to present their cases and receive immediate feedback on Āyurvedic aspects of clinical assessment, diagnosis, clinical decision-making and management.

Students are encouraged to ask all questions to fully understand the complexity of Āyurvedic medicine in clinical practice. Students may present as many or as few cases as they like during their 50-minute session.

All sessions are recorded and available to active students in the Clinical Mentorship Program generally within 24 hours after each session. All patient and client information discussed during the session is anonymized and under strict confidentiality.

To participate students must:
  1. Be actively practicing Āyurveda in a professional capacity.

  2. Understand and apply HIPAA rules of confidentiality to all aspects of case presentations and participation in the program. A single violation of confidentiality is grounds for immediate removal from the program.

  3. Be capable of using Google Meet and attending sessions from a private location with the camera on and a headset for the duration of each session, whether presenting or observing.
